I look at the field – the ‘works’ end of it anyway, and I just see a long list of jobs to be done, and problems to be solved:

They’ve taken over the five elder trees in the field, from a great monstrous tangle of stems at the base of them, they’ve sent up strangling tentacles into the branches and the trees are actually falling down.

Some days, it’s actually very difficult to go out there and work, when it’s cold, windy, wet, and staying in the kitchen by a roaring fire is so much more tempting. Today was one of those days.

We spent the day shifting much of the remains of the top shed from the field yesterday, since the boys had pulled it down a few weeks ago. Here are some pics of the day:
